Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Set high on a mountain ridge in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, this remote and intimate lodge offers breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the Great Rift Valley. The setting feels peaceful and private, much like a country house hotel surrounded by nature. The trailhead for the Nkuringo gorilla family is located right outside the lodge, which makes gorilla trekking very convenient. Most treks remain within a few hours, depending on the movement of the gorilla group. Other habituated gorilla families in the nearby Rushaga sector are also easily reached by a short transfer, giving guests more trekking options. Accommodation is provided in beautifully built stone cottages that offer warmth and comfort after a day in the forest. There are six one bedroom cottages and two larger two bedroom family cottages, all with spacious sitting rooms and wood burning fireplaces. The main lodge chalet features several fireplaces, a bar area, and a dining space where guests can relax and share stories. Meals are creative and carefully prepared, with fresh ingredients often sourced from the organic kitchen garden. Tea and coffee are served in bed, adding a personal and thoughtful touch.
