This 14-day safari is an unforgettable adventure through Uganda’s amazing landscapes and wildlife. Start at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see rhinos up close. In Murchison Falls National Park, you will go on safari to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and buffaloes and enjoy a boat ride on the mighty Nile River to see hippos, crocodiles, birds, and the powerful Murchison Falls. In Kibale National Park, you will trek through the forest to meet our cousins the chimpanzees and explore Bigodi Swamp during a walk. In Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will have the chance to see even more elephants, leopards, hyenas and if you are lucky the famous tree climbing lions. You will take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where water animals will greet you while other animals drink water from the shores. Probably the biggest highlight of this adventure is the gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will have the chance to stand face to face with these massive creatures. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Relax with a boat tour on Lake Bunyonyi, visiting its beautiful islands. In Lake Mburo National Park, you will enjoy a night game drive to see animals that come out at night. You will also go on an exciting cycling safari where you will meet zebras, impalas and even giraffes up close from your bicycle. After, you will have a stop at the Equator for a fun photo and track the rare shoebill stork in Mabamba Swamp. End your journey with a tour in Kampala, Uganda’s lively capital. Welcome to Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa! Our team at Dark Hills Uganda will greet you warmly and make sure you have a comfy place to stay. Get ready for an exciting trip full of awesome adventures and meeting amazing animals.

Begin your adventure with a 3-4 hour drive from Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the big rhinos. You will walk with a ranger to see the rhinos up close and learn how they are protected. Then, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park, famous for its mighty waterfalls and diverse wildlife. It's a big park with the Nile River passing through, with animals like elephants, lions, giraffes , leopards and many more! You will visit the top of the waterfalls for an amazing walk and view. From here, you will see the Nile River plunging down a narrow gorge. It's a sight you won't forget! Feel the ground shake… and get ready for more fun!  You will check into your lodge right inside the park and relax while getting ready for next days’ activities.

Morning safaris are the best, as animals wake up from their deep sleep. Chances of seeing the cats like lions and leopards are high this time of the day. Hop into the van and explore different parts of the park with a ranger. We will try and see as many animals as possible! Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalos, and other animals along the way. Your ranger knows all the best spots to find them! In the afternoon, you will hop on a boat and cruise along the Nile River. You will see hippos relaxing, crocodiles sunbathing and many kinds of birds weaving their nests. You will reach Murchison Falls, where the river crashes through a narrow gap. It's a breathtaking sight, very different from yesterday’s view! After all the excitement, you will head back to your lodge to relax and rest.

Set off on an exciting day of wildlife and nature exploration, beginning with an optional early morning safari. After, we will set of on a scenic 6-7 hour drive to Fort Portal. Enjoy breathtaking views of stunning lakes, dense forests, and mountains along the way. Your accommodation will be conveniently located on the edge of Kibale Forest National Park, ensuring you are perfectly situated for more adventures. You might even spot some monkeys.

Start your day with a good breakfast before heading for chimpanzee trekking. You will join expert rangers on an exciting trek through the dense forest to find chimpanzees. Listen to the morning sounds of birds and monkeys in the trees. Your rangers will explain chimpanzee behavior and might show you their nests along the way. As you get closer, you might hear the chimpanzees hooting and calling to each other. When you find them, watch these fascinating animals up close as they swing through the trees, play and look for food. Such an amazing experience to watch up close in their natural habitat. Your rangers will keep you at a safe distance and respect their natural home. After spending an hour with the chimpanzees, hike back for a tasty lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp, managed by the local community. Explore the peaceful swamp on well-kept paths, where you might see many bird species like the Great Blue Turaco.

Start your day with a nice breakfast before heading to the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat safari. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful views as you cruise between Lake George and Lake Edward. You'll see lots of animals along the shore, like elephants, plenty of hippos, and buffaloes. Keep your camera ready for birds like kingfishers and eagles diving for fish. Your guide will share interesting facts about the animals and plants you see. Learn about the local wildlife and how they live here. After the boat safari, relax at your lodge and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or take a walk to explore the nearby area. This day offers a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

Start your day with an exciting morning game safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you might encounter elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kob, and various antelope species. Your knowledgeable guide will provide insights into their behaviors and habitats, making each sighting a memorable experience. After the safari, enjoy a drive to Ishasha (the southern part of the park), famous for its unique tree-climbing lions. Keep your eyes open for these lions resting on ancient fig trees, a rare and fascinating sight. Along the way, you may also spot other animals. The drive offers stunning views of the park's rolling hills, crater lakes, and the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance.

Today we have another opportunity to see the tree climbing lions in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Learn about their behavior from your guide and gain insight into their unique habits. Following this, you will take a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famous for its mountain gorillas. Travel through amazing landscapes with rolling hills and charming local villages before settling into a lodge right on the edge of the forest.

Today is the highlight of your holiday: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! After breakfast and a briefing from park rangers, set off with a guide to track a gorilla family through the dense, mist-covered forest. The trek might be tough, with steep and muddy paths, but it's worth it to spend an unforgettable hour watching these amazing creatures in their natural home—a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Bwindi is also home to forest elephants and chimpanzees. After the trek, we'll head to Lake Bunyonyi, a huge lake with 29 beautiful islands. Enjoy a 40-minute boat ride on the lake, and tonight, you'll stay on one of those islands!

Today is a day to relax and enjoy. Start with a peaceful boat tour on Lake Bunyonyi, known for its calm waters and surrounded by green hills. You'll cruise across the lake spotting different birds and visiting beautiful islands. Look for kingfishers, herons, and the majestic African fish eagle. Explore islands like Punishment Island and Bushara Island, known for their culture and beauty. After the boat tour, go back to your lodge to unwind. Relax by the lakeshore, take a swim, or just enjoy the quiet. It's the perfect day to rest and enjoy Uganda's natural beauty.

After breakfast, we'll start our journey to Lake Mburo National Park with a 30-minute boat transfer to the mainland, followed by a scenic 4-5 hour drive. As Uganda's smallest savanna park, Lake Mburo is home to unique wildlife, including zebras, which you won't find in the other parks you visited. Keep your eyes open for impalas, elands, topis, buffaloes, and giraffes too! Along the way, we'll stop for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy a taste of Ugandan cuisine with an extensive buffet. Try the delicious matooke (banana dish) with groundnut sauce, or opt for fresh Tilapia. There's something for everyone! In the afternoon, you will arrive at the lodge. You can relax with at the poolside, overlooking the park.

Explore the thrill of a cycling safari through Lake Mburo National Park, a stunning wildlife sanctuary in Uganda. Ride through different landscapes like hills, open grasslands, where you can see zebras, impalas, giraffes, and buffaloes up close. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views as you explore on your bike. This is a whole new experience of spotting wildlife! After your cycling adventure, take a scenic drive to Kasanje, known for its wetlands and home to the shoebills. You will also have a stop at the equator, where you can learn about this amazing line on the Earth and take some great photos.

Today is your chance to track shoebills in Mabamba Swamp, Uganda's top spot for spotting the rare Shoebill stork, a large bird with a unique shoe-shaped bill. Covering 25 square kilometers, this vast wetland lies along Lake Victoria's northern shores, near Entebbe town. The marsh extends through a narrow, long bay lined with papyrus, opening into Lake Victoria. After exploring Mabamba Swamp, return to your hotel for lunch and then journey to Entebbe.

Discover Kampala, Uganda's lively capital, on a city tour. Begin by exploring bustling markets, where you can shop for unique souvenirs and experience local culture. Explore Owino Market, known for its vibrant fabrics and lively atmosphere. Wander through the streets to see the Parliament buildings and Independence Park. After the tour, transfer to Entebbe for your departure.
